Event Management & Exhibition Support

Events are often used in conjunction with media activity when the story relates to a specific location or represents an exceptional development for the firm. Managed carefully, launches, parties, interviews, customer events and charity days can be leveraged to generate goodwill, contacts and publicity.

The most successful events form part of a long term marketing strategy and depend on positive relationships developed with customers, prospects, stakeholders and the media. We can help build those contacts and plan an event that satisfies your business goals, whether that means securing media coverage, attracting new business, announcing change or strengthening your position.

Our experience includes working with celebrities to promote a retail event, hosting trade press events, and organising various types of stunt to generate a burst of interest.

Top tips on planning a successful event:

  • Identify what success will look like before you commit to the event – eg, will you evaluate the event by number of attendees, press coverage achieved, or sales made at the event or in following period? Events can be hugely effective, but they will soak up time and resource so make sure the overall objective is clear.
  • The guest list is usually the most important, yet commonly overlooked, factor to consider. As a rule of thumb you should invite at least five times the number of people you wish to attend.
  • Plan your event months on advance – not only do you need to check sports fixtures and the industry diary for conflicting events, but you need to get the invitations out at least 6-8 weeks before the day.
  • Follow up invitations with phone calls and email – make sure you have an idea of numbers before the event.
  • Make it special – original, quirky and fun entertainment, speakers, refreshments and decor will ensure that your full guest list has an experience to remember.
  • Invite VIPs and the press to extend news of your event beyond the guest list.
